We will be posting regularly here on all matters crypto, particularly those related to AML, regulations, and compliance, and where you can find updates on the company and our products.  

Now, to begin with, you may be wondering who we are, so we thought we’d tell you a bit about us and our mission before diving into some of the things we have in the pipeline.  

Hoptrail is a blockchain data company focused on source of funds analysis.  What that means is that we’re helping our customers to find out more about their crypto funds - where they came from, where they’ve gone to, and any potential pitfalls along the way.  As crypto goes mainstream and as regulation becomes clearer, we think there is a critical role for blockchain analytics - not just for institutions, but for retail investors too.  

The ability to verify your funds and prove they are legitimate is extremely important.  We are already seeing proof-of-funds as a feature of wider adoption, and something traditional finance requires when taking, handling, or processing crypto proceeds.  This could be for a house purchase, a loan, for tax or accounting purposes, or simply moving funds from one bank to another.  All of those scenarios require proof-of-funds up front.    

Currently, blockchain analytics (i.e the method of running checks on crypto wallets) is designed for large institutions.  We don’t think this is fair.  We believe everyone has the right to know about their funds, regardless of who or what you are, no matter how sizeable or complex the portfolio.  

By giving customers the tools to analyse their funds, we are providing them with a stake in the ecosystem - the ability to evidence the legitimacy of their proceeds, the ability to get on the housing ladder, or even the ability to challenge an onboarding rejection from an exchange.  

Those things matter in crypto if this space is to grow successfully.  Hoptrail is here to help push that process by bringing blockchain analytics to the people.  We hope you can join us on our journey!
