Ethereum Scam Checker
Hoptrail is pleased to announce the launch of ethscamcheck.io, a free tool to investigate whether an Ethereum address has been exposed to high-risk entities or events.
ethscamcheck scans ETH, ERC-20 (Token), and ERC-721 (NFT) transactions to find counterparties that have been tagged as potentially scam-related. These could be phishing attacks, or addresses linked to hacks, bugs, or heists. They could even be unsolicited airdrops which could mean false red flags. The goal is to identify these transactions and help you to assess whether they really are a concern. The types we have in our database are growing but currently include:
- Heists
- Hacks / Phishing Attacks
- Scams
- Ponzi Schemes
- Blocked Contracts / Addresses
- Compromised Addresses
- Exploits
- Bugs
Where risks have been found, details of these transactions, including the hash, counterparty address, tag, timestamp, and the direction (sent / received) are shown.
Its often difficult to know whether you’ve been unwittingly exposed to risky counterparties. In some cases, you may get unfairly penalised for those issues. We don’t see that as right or good practice. At Hoptrail, we believe everyone has the right to know about their crypto funds - from sources and destinations, to counterparties, events, and potentially risky transactions. The more information you have, the better!
We hope you find ethscamcheck useful. We’d be happy to hear your feedback too!
